My results for this question show that there is a varied taste of music among the people that that took my survey. However, R&B came out as most popular as one third of people surveyed chose this as their favourite genre of music. This is favourable as it means my survey is accurately targeted at the right audience and their answers will help me develop a magazine that will be suited to an R&B fan's desires.

My results for this question show that a third of people do/sometimes read music magazines. This statistic shows that these people are potential customers. Two thirds of the people that took my survey said they didn't read music magazines. However, this doesn't mean that they are not willing to read a music magazine, it may be because there is not an already existing magazine that they feel is worth reading. Therefore I value their opinion on what they would like to be included in a music magazine very highly as they are likely to have specifics on what they think makes a good magazine and is worth buying as they do not currently have an interest in reading them.
This question showed that 7 out of 12 people would be interested in buying an R&B magazine. This is a successful statistic as looking back to the first question, 4 out of 12 people said R&B was their favourite music genre, showing that people who prefer other genres would still be interested in buying an R&B magazine.
This question shows the reason why the 5 people stated they weren't interested in buying an R&B music magazine. The majority of people are uninterested in buying an R&B magazine because this specific type of music genre doesn't appeal to them. However, their opinion is still vaild as they may have read other music magazines of a different genre. Therefore they have knowledge of the magazine market and can suggest what they think an R&B magazine should be like and how it should differ to the genre of magazines they read.

The majority of people said they would spend £1-£2 on a magazine which suggest they do not expect a high quality magazine with lots of pages and would prefer a shorter, less complex magazine. This reflects my target market of 16-24 year olds - a lot of these people are likely to be students and not have a lot of disposable income to spend on things such as magazines so would prefer a lower price. However, 3 put of 12 people said they would be willing to spend £3-£5 on a music magazine which means they would expect the magazine to be finished to a high quality and standard, containing a lot of pages.
The name "The Beat" came out with the vast majority of the votes, 7 out of 11 people though this was the best name for an R&B magazine. This shows that "The Beat" is a very popular option for my magazine which I will take in to consideration. R&B takeover also had 2 votes so this still could be a possibility.
This question shows that the most popular content to read about is interviews with artists and upcoming music events. Therefore when I make my magazine I will try incorporate the two by doing an interview with an artist and then also mentioning their upcoming concert/gig and if they are playing at any festivals/events.
This question shows that the majority of people would like to see a magazine published either fortnightly or monthly and the minority would be willing to pay for a magazine weekly. This could again reflect my target market and the lack of disposable income to spend on a magazine weekly.
75% of people who answered this question said they think the most appropriate colour scheme for an R&B magazine targeted at 16-24 year olds would be a mixture of both bright and dark colours. I was pleased with this result as a colour scheme I had in mind would feature purple, black and white which is a mixture of bright and dark colours which the people who took the survey thought would be most appropiate.
